Talking Pieces
The talking piece is central to the circle. Read about talking pieces and circles in Mi'kmaq culture here and First Nations Pedagogy here. Each talking piece has a history: a gift from a student, a favorite rock, a forgotten toy. When a new talking piece is added to collection, by a teacher or a student, we introduce it to the class and share it's history.
