You Rock! An idea from Christopher Allan’s Pre School. A bowl of rocks with the word “YOU” on them sits in the middle of the room. Students and staff pay attention to the kind acts in our classroom. Anyone can give anyone a “You Rock” for their kindness. In the morning, remind class that when you recieve a “You Rock” you keep it at your desk or carry it around in your pocket as a reminder that your kindness has an impact on others. At the end of the day, remind students that if they did not receive a rock today, it doesn’t mean that you don’t rick, just that your kindness wasn’t noticed. Gather class in a standing circle, pass the bowl around the room with each person telling the person next to them “You Rock”. Students that received a rock, put them back in the bowl so that you have a full bowl of rocks to do it again tomorrow!
